I went shopping with my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago, which basically involved me doing my usual Boots run (staring at Essie nail polishes for 5 minutes and finding the willpower to not buy any, and then moving on to get what I actually came in for).
Without thinking twice, I grabbed a new bottle of the shampoo I’ve been using recently. We got to the self check-out and the price came up as £23.00. He let out a massive gasp and continued to interrogate me on why I would possibly, ever, in any world need such an expensive shampoo. Little do you know I wanted to say… If it weren’t for this very shampoo, I would simply not be the same person I am now.
Bit melodramatic BUT, that moment inspired me to write about five products that are absolutely, no doubt worth every penny.
1) Bumble & Bumble – Straight Shampoo (£23)
I searched a whole 21 years to find a shampoo that stops my hair from frizzing every time I leave the house. This stuff answers all my prayers. It keeps it looking fresh for up to 3 days too, which for my should-be-illegal thin hair is a God-send.
2) Clinique – Moisture Surge Intense (£34)
Hands down the best moisturizer I’ve ever used. It fixes dry skin immediately without the sticky, thick, gross feeling. It has a soft smell too, which just makes me happy every time I use it.
3) Charlotte Tilbury – Colour Chameleon in the colour Champagne Diamonds (£19)
This was one of Christmas presents and beforehand I never knew it existed but now my whole make-up routine will never be the same again. I haven’t touched any eyeshadow since I got this. I just apply this, add some eyeliner and mascara and I’m ready to go. It stays put all day and is such a beautiful colour. I’m more than tempted to get myself some more…
4) Dr. Ceuticals – Super Repair Hand Cream (£10)
Working at Starbucks left my hands feeling like two massive raisins. I went through so many hand creams and finally I found this one, which does the job perfectly! It’s so smooth, not-sticky and smells gorgeous. My mum’s also a fan – and she knows a thing or two about hand creams.
5) Dove – Maximum Protection Deodorant (£14)
I’ve used this product for about 3/4 years after my friend recommended it. I think I’ll probably use it forever. I don’t know how it does it but I just simply don’t sweat anymore… Weird or what?
