I can hardly believe that it’s already September 1st. I feel like each month is passing by quicker and quicker. August has been more than beautiful – with stunning weather, my 23rd birthday and so many wonderful family celebrations. I’m sad that we’re beginning to wave Summer goodbye, but I can’t really hide my excitement for Autumn to come, the brown and orange leaves to fall and of course, to get my little booties back out of the wardrobe.
But before I get wrapped up in September and all it’s glory, I wanted to share a few of the things I loved throughout August.
Around the end of July, my husband came back from work with one of these! He saw it in the duty free catalogue and knew it would benefit not only myself, but also him. I usually make him hold my nail polishes whilst I paint my nails. Oh but now, the 21st Century has gifted me with a Tweexy. Meaning I can paint my nails without the hassle of balancing my polishes in awkward places or forcing my husband to be my personal polish holder.
All I simply need to do is pop my polish into the Tweexy and paint, paint, paint away! It’s wonderful. Google tells me that this bad boy is priced at around £10, but you can find yourself a cheaper version on eBay for around £2. Bargain!
My mum gifted me with this Heyland & Whittle candle for my birthday. It’s helping me to welcome Autumn into my life with the gentle scent of Alpine. It smells devine, yet not over-powering. It has this gentle way of making the room smell fresh without completely taking over your nose and inducing a small headache. It burns slowly, which I’m also a big fan of. I’ve noticed with other candles that the wax disappears way too quickly.
This brand of candles have a really interesting range of scents, which I look forward to trying out in the future. This candle is priced at £25.
As I was trying to take photos of my August Favourites, my little Peaches wanted to see what all the fuss was about. With a cute face like this, I couldn’t resist putting her in this post. She’s so tiny and adorable. By far the cutest kitten in the world.
For my birthday, I asked Bradley to get me some gym clothes to help motivate me to get back into shape. He came back from Vancouver with this top, a matching sports bra and shorts.
All of them are from Victoria’s Secret. They’re super comfy, airy and totally cute enough to motivate me to work out. I’ve been following Blogilates on YouTube, who makes fun work-out videos (yay for free exercise!). I especially love the Cardio Pilates. Here’s to hoping the exercising lasts!
I’ve written about Avene on the blog before. I discovered this brand at the beginning of the year and I’ve stuck to it ever since. I’m a huge fan of their Cleanance range, particularly this cleansing gel. First of all, it keeps my skin so clear and if I ever do have a break-out, it never lasts long. This gel does dry out my skin ever so slightly, but it’s easily fixed with a dab of moisturiser.
I also love the bottle. I’m so frustrated with products in awkward bottles, that result in not all of the product being used up. This bottle allows for you to use every last drop of the product. A total win in my books.
It sells at a great price of £8 in Boots.
Rachel Hickson came to preach at our church a few Sundays ago. I loved her message and he profound wisdom. I had to run off straight after the service to do a bible study with the youth, but before I left I nudged Bradley and told him to pick one of her books, any of her books, and get one for me to read.
He chose Eat the Word, Speak the Word and got me the study guide alongside it. It’s all about the Bible, studying the Bible and how it transforms your life. She’s a great author, so much so that she makes it effortless to get lost in her book. I’m just over half way through the study at the moment, and already I’ve learned so much. I totally recommend this to anyone wanting to dig further into the Word, or someone who is really struggling to pick up and read their Bible on a regular basis.
You can buy her books on Amazon for £8 paperback or £8 on the Kindle.
