Whenever I go shopping with my mum, we both head off in different directions and go into our own favourite shops. We finish the day with a coffee stop. That’s when we both pour out the contents of our bags onto the table and tell each other what we bought and why. That’s always, without a doubt, my favourite part of the day.
Today I went to Boots, and I thought why not show my readers what I got?! Surely nosing in other peoples shopping is fun for everyone, not just me?
My main aim for today’s Boots trip was to restock on my daily products that have all seemingly run out at the same time (why does that always happen?). I bought a couple of new products that I’ve had my eyes on for a while too.
Essie – Gel Setter
If you know me at all, you’ll know I’m more than obsessed with painting my nails. Near the end of last year, I discovered this gel setter by Essie. It totally changed the game when it came to the longevity of my nail polish (seriously, it prevents chips for at least a week!). I have faithfully used it every week since then, so obviously when I came to the end of the bottle last week it was at the top of my “must-buy-ASAP” shopping list.
Aussie – Miracle Moist Shampoo
I move through my shampoos and conditioners pretty quickly. I’m one of those people who believe in changing it up every so often. But this is my second bottle of Aussie’s miracle moist. I love it too much to change it just yet. The smell is gorgeous, the shampoo actually does what it says on the bottle. It’s not too expensive. It’s exactly what I need and until I find something better, I’ll continue repurchasing.
Avene – Cleanance Cleansing Gel
In my last Friday Favourites blog post (you can read it here), I mentioned using Avene’s Cleanance Expert and how it has done an incredible job of clearing up my skin. Well, as I was low on my current cleanser, I decided to try out some of Avene’s other products. This Cleansing Gel has some great reviews online so I couldn’t resist. I’ll be sure to get back to you on how it goes.
Avene – Cleanance Mask
As I picked up the Avene Cleansing Gel, the bright yellow “OFFER” sign caught my eye. Boots have a Buy one, get one half price deal with all Avene products. How convenient…
So, of course, I couldn’t miss out on such a great opportunity. I picked up this Cleanance Mask. It says to apply after cleansing, leave on for 5 minutes, and then wash off. It claims to gently exfoliate the face, helping to reduce blemishes and excess oil.
Garnier – Micellar Cleansing Water
I have been using this Micellar water for at least two years now. I don’t think I’ll ever exchange it for something different. It works so well, and comes at such a great price (£3 for the big bottle!). It’s gentle on the eyes and it removes make up pretty much instantly. That’s all I need for make-up removal.
Note: I don’t use this as my sole cleanser – purely for make-up removal. I always follow this with a proper cleanse.
