I went on a desperate bikini hunt just before my holiday to Corfu. I was really specific about what I wanted, but the most important factor was that they had to be flattering. I’ve made the mistake before of buying the cutest bikini and then being totally, completely self-conscious whenever I wore it. I found the following three bikinis on the highstreet, which I loved throughout my holiday.
This bikini set is from Topshop. The stripes do their magic in making you look that little bit slimmer, especially the bottom area… The top is comfortable yet supportive. The white in the stripes pop more once you’ve worked on your tan. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was the fact that you had to tie up the bikini straps (which is always risky business).
This bikini top is by far my favourite out of the three. I found it in Victoria’s Secret and fell in love the second I laid eyes on it. I can’t even begin to describe how flattering this top is. As you can see, I didn’t get any matching bottoms – firstly I couldn’t afford them and secondly, they were slightly too revealing for me and I simply didn’t have the confidence. Instead I paired the top with some plain black bottoms I bought on Asos a few years ago for around £6.
This set from River Island is so cute. I feel like I needed at least one strapless bikini top, in order to minimize the opportunity for awkward tan lines. This pastel blue looks great and I love the white boarder. I was wary of the bottoms at first, but found that they looked fine after trying them on (and opting for a bigger size in order to avoid muffin top).
