Happy April friends! I feel like I say this every month, but HOW FAST did March go?! Every month just seems to speed by quicker and quicker, and I’m running behind time desperately wanting and needing it to slow down.
This month has been a whirlwind – so much so that I basically only managed to post my Daily Devotionals. I have a feeling that April may be similar, but I’m trying my best to squeeze in the time to write extra posts here and there (especially on Wednesdays for you Wedding Wednesdays lovers).
In honour of March and how fast it flew by, I thought I’d spend my afternoon writing about the things I have thoroughly enjoyed this past month.
It was my best friend’s wedding last Saturday, and so the whole of last week I sacrificed my time to become her personal assistant (good friend or what?). I helped her with plenty of last minute bits and bops, one of them being buying photo frames for her table decorations.
We headed into Home Sense and found so many different frames for bargain prices (from £3.99-£6.99). I bought myself this frame, which matches the dress I wore for her wedding – so I’m going to put a photo of me and her inside so that I’ll never forget how perfect her Big Day was. This frame was £6.99.
The bride and I also went for a spray tan a couple of days before the wedding. Neither of us have had one before, so we were total rookies. Luckily my friend is an expert and she advised we exfoliate the night before so that the tan looks good and lasts.
I immediately thought of this scrub (£8), which I used to use all throughout university. It’s a breakfast scrub (contains oats, sugar and shea), and smells divine. It’s quite a harsh scrub, which is exactly what we needed – and it did its job perfectly. We were both in awe of our soft skin afterward.
I have decided to use this every week from now on so that my skin will always be silky smooth.
I found this bowl in TK Maxx a couple of weeks ago. I’ll admit it wasn’t something I totally needed but the price tag (£2) and the cute design drew me in. It’s the perfect size for holding a couple of nail polishes and any other little things I like to display on my dressing table.
It just adds a little pop of colour to my room and I love it.
I have owned this Revlon lipstick (peach parfait – £7.99) for well over a year now. I actually forgot I owned it as it got thrown to the back of my make-up drawer at some point. I remembered its existence when my make-up artist came to do a trial of my bridal make-up the other week. She put a lipstick on which suited my skin so well. It was the perfect spring shade. Afterward I asked her what it was called and she said ‘Revlon, Peach Parfait’.
And then of course I was totally excited that I didn’t need to buy a new lipstick because I already had it. Since then I’ve been wearing it every day. I love Revlon’s colorbursts – I think they’re the perfect formula that leaves your lips moisturised yet still shows off the colour. No-stick is always a winner in my books.
This Mac Studio Finish Concealer (£15.50) was a life-saver for the wedding on Saturday. I had bags under my eyes from no sleep (we were way too excited) and one big sneaky spot on my chin. I used this concealer (just patted it on using my finger) under my foundation (I used Bare Minerals powder) and it hid everything! People even asked if I had my make-up done by a make-up artist.
I have used this concealer for years. This is probably my 4th or 5th pot. I haven’t found a better alternative and definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone. It does the job without fail every time!
In my last Favourites blog post, I mentioned a Bath and Body Works moisturiser I had fallen in love with. Well, I was so in love that it ran out a week ago. Luckily, my friend gifted me with a new one just in time. She also gave me the matching shower gel.
The scent is Japanese Cherry Blossom, and oh my it’s incredible. It’s a very soft, gentle and fresh scent – very feminine but not over-powering. On the back of the bottles it says that their key scents within the formula are: Japenese Cherry Blossom, Asian Pear, Fresh Mimosa Petals, White Jasmine and Blushing Sandalwood.
And last but not least, I love these New Look heels. Katie bought them for all of the bridesmaids to wear on the wedding day. I must admit I was nervous as to how long I’d last in them. They look super uncomfortable, and I’m not a heel person. I’m a flat-on-the-ground-keep-my-feet-comfy person. I even bought myself some flip-flops to change into in case my feet start self-destructing.
But, they lasted me from 10:30am-8pm. That in itself is a miracle. Plus, they look so gorgeous.
I am already planning to wear them again. My friend said that New Look do these heels in different colours too, not just the pink – for any of you interested in some pretty new heels!
