I’m obsessed with dressing tables. It must have started from a young age, watching princesses in movies elegantly sit at their dressing tables, combing their hair without a care in the world.
I inherited one of my mother’s dressers when I was 11. It was nice and big, but it didn’t have anywhere to sit and surely that’s the most important part of a dressing table!?! So when I moved back home after university, I went to a second-hand furniture store in Bedford and bought myself a beautiful dressing table for £70. I then bought myself some white paint, and spent the following couple of days painting my dream dressing table. I didn’t buy the stool that came with the table because it was fairly ugly so instead I grabbed an forgotten old chair from our garage. That was two years ago. Since then, I have loved every minute that I’ve sat at my dressing table doing my hair and make-up.
It suddenly came to my attention that I’ve never shown you it. So here’s today’s post… a little tour of my dream dressing table.
Before I came up with the idea of buying an old dressing table and painting it white, I looked everywhere for a table with decent sized drawers. These are huge! I use the middle one for my hair things – dryer, straightener, sprays, brushes etc. The side drawers are for our products (mainly mine…). The little set of drawers on top of the dresser holds my make-up.
