I say “essentials” but I actually mean “really, really appreciate/ rather not live without” proucts. I’m sure I would survive without all of the following, but they make me happy during the summer season. I’ve chosen five products that I absolutely loved during my week away in Corfu and that I’m sure I will continue to love for the following couple of months, whilst England tries her best to have a summer.
Charles Worthington – Moisture Seal Shampoo and Conditioner
My hair and I, to put it simply, don’t get on. My hair is stubborn, mean and loves to kick up a fuss when I enter any sort of humidity. I picked up these travel-sized bottles at Boots just before I left for Corfu. Charles Worthington definitely saved the day. This shampoo, ideal for dry hair, helped keep my hair happy. It kept the moisture locked in and I rarely had to battle with the fear of frizz. Thank you Charles, I owe you one.
Smashbox – Eyelights Shadow Palette
I always love a bit of shimmer on my eyes, but I think it always looks the prettiest in the summer. This little palette is so cute. I like to apply the middle colour as a base all over the eyelids, with the darker colour on in the outer corner of my eyelid. Then to complete the look, I apply the tiniest bit of the white shimmer to the inner corner of the eyes.
Charlotte Tilbury – Coachella Coral
Every girl needs a flirty pink in their lipstick collection for summer. I’m scared of the bold and “out there” colours, so I like to settle for the subtle shades. This colour is on the brink of being “out there”. It’s bright yet natural. This lip colour paired with the eyeshadow look above, is the perfect combo for looking fresh and cute.
Ted Baker – Body Spray
I never travel with perfume bottles. I smashed one once and I’m still a bit emotionally scarred about it. So instead of lugging an expensive bottle, I carry around my faithful Ted Baker body spray. This scent is sooooo good. On the bottle it says it smells of bergamot, red fruit, tuberose and patchouli. Those words mean absolutely nothing to me – all I know is that it smells amazing and I’ll keep repurchasing.
Obagi – Healthy Skin Protection Sunscreen
I hate sunscreen. I hate the stickiness, the smell, the effort – everything. But I’m aware of the importance of protecting your skin (especially your face, girls – you don’t want to look like a grandma when you’re still a baby), so I suck it up and apply it anyway. This one is my mum’s which I faithfully steal all the time. Out of all the sunscreens I’ve tried, this is the least sticky, smelly and annoying one so I’m happy with it.
