Ahhh the time has come to say goodbye to Glossybox. If you read last month’s Glossybox post, I actually thought November would be the last box I received but turns out I’m bad at maths and got my numbers mixed up. It was a nice surprise though when this little beauty was waiting at my door last week.
This is by far the most beautiful Glossybox I have ever received – it’s rose gold! And as a special Christmas treat there were six products inside. It’s safe to say I was very happy that morning.
So Susan – Statement Skin Highlighter Pencil (£15)
I couldn’t possibly count how many times Glossybox have sent me a highlighter. I own way too many. My favourite has always been Mac’s Cream Colour base in pearl. It does the job (without being OTT shiny) and the product itself lasts forever. But this, I actually have high hopes for. When I first saw it I thought I’d probably end up giving it away because of the amount of highlighters I already have sat in my make-up drawer. However, when I tried it out on my hand it just gave off such a lovely colour – very similar to my Mac one but a with a bit more shimmer. What I like about this is the angled shape of the stick and that you don’t need to stick your finger into the product in order to apply it. It’s easier and way more hygienic.
être belle – Golden Skin Caviar Eye Roll On (£30.66)
When I first saw this sat in the box, I was 100% confused. And I still am. It’s probably one of the biggest (and most expensive) princess products that I have ever received from Glossybox. But I won’t lie, I have enjoyed rolling it on my eyes every am and pm. As far as I’m aware it hasn’t done anything other than make my eyes feel really cold and wet (and it occasionally stings). It says it’s meant to be refreshing and I suppose it somewhat is. Definitely a great way to waste £30!
Starskin – Bio-cellulose Second Skin Mask (£8.50)
Ooh I’m so excited to use this! There is only one mask in the packet and I intend to save it until I’m having a total lazy day when I feel I desperately need pampering. I have heard great things about this company and my hopes are high in the sky for this mask.
L’Occitane – Shea Face Comforting Oil (£29)
L’Occitane is one of my guilty pleasures. I love walking around the shop pretending I’ll buy it all. It’s a great company and if I had the money I would probably own every single thing they ever released. So when I saw this little bottle in my box I gave out a tiny little squeal. Apparently this is one of their newest products which is used on the face to nourish, soothe, supple and comfort. I’m hoping this bottle will last me forever.
Essence – Liquid Lipstick in Show Off (£2.50)
Yes, yet another lip product in entirely the wrong colour. This product looks great. I’m genuinely impressed by the pigmentation and the formula of this – especially because of its affordable price. But I’m so fussy about what colours suit me, so I won’t be keeping it. I have someone in mind for it though, so it’s going to a good home.
Collection – Long Lasting Nail Effects (£2.99)
For me this was the let-down product in the box this month. Maybe I’m too much of a princess when it comes to nail polishes, but last month Glossybox sent out Nails Inc polishes and now they’re sending Collection polishes? Really? This polish is too sheer and it just isn’t as long lasting as it promises to be. Oh well.
