I realise that I’m 7 days late with this post as we’re already a solid week into July, but I’ve been busy okay?! June was my first month of being married to Bradley and it’s been a total blast. We’ve had our honeymoon in Brighton, Mexico and Bangkok, came back home and then went to house/dog sit in Bicester. I have well and truly loved every second. Within that packed month I’ve tried and tested a few new products and I’m so excited to share a few of my new favourites with you.
Today is one of those rare warm, sunny English days and to make the most of it I thought I’d bring my June Favourites outside. So here I am in my mum’s garden with my laptop, cup of tea, camera and a bunch of beauty products. Oh, how I wish every day was like this!
My mum’s garden is really cute, isn’t it?! It’s not ideal for the hayfever, but for the eyes it’s a real treat.
So I have a range of different products to show you today, each of which I have totally loved and wouldn’t think twice about purchasing again (if my bank balance were to allow, of course). Let me talk you through each of them.
Marc Jacobs – Daisy Blush
If heaven were a scent, this would most probably be it. I bought this with the hopes of it being my wedding day perfume. I got the 75ml bottle for around £45 through Bradley’s duty free staff discount at his work (bargain!). However, on my wedding day my lovely mother surprised me with a Dior perfume and so I decided I’d keep this for my every day smell.
I cannot even begin to tell you just how many compliments I receive because of this perfume. It’s floral and sweet but not over-powering and sickly. I sometimes get headaches from too smelly perfumes and so I have to be quite careful with what I use and this is just the perfect perfume.
It’s distinguishable yet not too much. It smells gorgeous and lasts all day long. Something to bear in mind is that it’s limited edition, which kind of breaks my heart as I had hopes of it being my every day perfume forever. Let’s hope Marc Jacobs change their mind about that.
EOS – Body Lotion (delicate petals)
Bradley bought this moisturiser for me from Dallas several weeks ago. I didn’t know it existed, but the moment I laid eyes on it I just knew that I would fall in love with it. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that I’m a massive fan of EOS lip balms. I swear by them. No other lip balms compare.
So of course, EOS is more than able to create the most perfect moisturiser!! And they have well and truly succeeded. First of all, I love the pump. When you get out of the shower/bath, the last thing you want to do is struggle with a squeezy bottle. This bottle makes it easy and way less messy. The scent of the moisturiser is very soft and gentle, yet still noticeable. It’s not a Bath and Body Works moisturiser in the sense that the scent is the key element. The key element here is the moisturiser itself. It’s soooooo soothing and the moisture instantly locks in. It’s not heavy and sticky, but still does the job.
The only disadvantage that springs to my mind is that it’s not the easiest bottle to travel with. It’s a bit big and clunky and the pump can twist quite easily, potentially causing a spillage in luggage. I haven’t done my research, but I’d like to hope that EOS have a travel friendly version.
Mitchum – Ultimate Gel Deodorant
I have heard people rave on about this deodorant for a seriously long time, but I was faithful to my Sure Maximum Protection. After a while however, I started to get irritated by the white marks left of my clothing. On one of my many visits to Boots, I noticed the sticker on the Mitchum box says No White Marks. Of course, I was intrigued and decided I’d give it a go.
Little did I know just how much I’d fall in love with this deodorant. It 100% stays true to what it says on its bottle. It has 48 hour protection, feels refreshing and it doesn’t ever leave you with any white marks anywhere! I used it whilst in Mexico and Bangkok (a true test in over 30 degree heat, right?) and it worked a treat. Friends, this one is a gem!
Welsh Lavender Ltd – Farmers’ Foot Cream
One of my friends has recently got a new job working for Welsh Lavender. She gifted me a box of their products on the morning of my wedding. I have so far only tried this foot cream.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but during the summer time my heels go really, really dry and cracked. I tend to only wear sandals and flip flops, which probably doesn’t help the heel situation. However, since I started using this cream on a daily basis, my feet have a) never felt more hydrated and healthy and b) never looked better. If I ever miss a day of applying, I can really feel it.
I love the lavender scent and I love the instant moisture. Total hit in my books.
Tresemme – Keratin Smooth shampoo, conditioner and treatment
I like to change up my shampoo and conditioner every few months, as I feel that my hair starts to become immune to the same products after a while (is this in my mind, or is this an actual thing..?). If you’ve been reading for a while, you’ll know that my hair is thin, naturally wavy and loves to frizz up in the rain. Therefore I only ever buy products that say they’ll help with the frizz situation.
The “Up to 7 Day smooth system” tag line on these products were what drew me in. Oh, and the 3 for 2 offer in Boots.
The bottles say that it only works when activated by heat, which is perfect for me as I straighten my hair every time after a wash.
I can’t deny that I have really enjoyed the results from these products. The shampoo is super cleansing and the conditioner does a great job of nourishing the hair (which is super, super important for my dead, lifeless hair). And then most of all, I love the treatment. It says on the bottle to use 9 pumps, which is waaaaaaaaay too much for me and I’m pretty sure it would be way too much for anyone regardless. I used 1 and a half pumps and it covers all of my long hair from root to bottom. It keeps it smooth and straight all day long, and even the day after. Thumbs up from me, for sure!
