I’ve slowly been trying to revamp my summer wardrobe. With somewhat limited money, I have tried to make sure that everything I buy is simple, can be easily styled and worn with almost everything else I own. The following things I’ve bought over the past couple of months – all in time for my holiday to Corfu on Friday (yay!).
I think this is my favourite top ever. I found it hidden at the back in Topshop. The light yellow is perfect for summer. It’s the kind of yellow that suits everyone and anyone – not the awkward yellow that suits nobody. It’s slightly cropped, but not too cropped.
Lace Bralets are in this year! I plan to wear this one from Urban Outfitters under the majority of my tops/dresses this summer. The lace detail is so flattering, and it helps to cover up any awkward bits that normal bras can’t cover – including bra straps. I love it under a plain white top paired with some jeans. Simple yet stylish.
Skirts are my favourite things to wear during Spring and Summer, especially when I have a tan. This skirt from Urban Outfitters is such a slimming fit. I chose a size bigger than what I normally wear, as I wanted it to be an acceptable length (long leg problems).
I haven’t worn shorts in years. I didn’t feel confident enough to wear them without worrying about what other people are thinking. This year however, I’ve decided to get over myself. I found this pair of denim shorts in River Island and after trying them on, I decided that they’re my soul shorts. They’re flattering and comfortable. They look super short on the photo, but they’re actually quite long.
I was so happy when I found this dress in Topshop. It was totally reasonably priced for what it is. – slightly too good to be true maybe… I can’t wait to wear this once I have a tan. I bought this in a size 8 in the Tall section (long leg problems) and it fits perfectly. Happy Mieke.
