I like to think that I’m quite wise with my money. When I buy products/make-up I usually read reviews or research companies before I make any real purchases (especially the more expensive purchases). But on Saturday at the National Wedding Show, Katie and I (and her mum and auntie) got seriously sucked into buying this product.
The saleswoman sold it to us as “the best new way to remove hair”. She called us over and started using it on Katie’s leg. All she did was swirl the pad around swiftly, not applying much pressure, and the hairs on Katie’s leg disappeared. We all give it a stroke and all of us within 2 minutes opened up our purses and paid £20 for “a 2 year’s supply”. The woman told us how our leg hairs won’t grow back for at least three weeks, as the hairs get removed from the root.
We were all so happy and satisfied with ourselves for never having to shave our legs ever again.
Until I got home and tried the product out. It worked amazingly for the first 5 minutes. I was showing off my smooth legs to everyone. Within the first hour however, I could feel the hair growing back already, as well as having super itchy legs.
I then decided to give the company and their product a quick google. Only to find that hundreds of girls have had the same experience. Que heartbreak/regret/self-annoyance.
Oh well, at least I’ve tried it and now you don’t have to. I’ll try not to make this mistake again…
