Yay! An acceptable amount of time has passed since my last “What’s in my handbag” post, which means I can finally write another. I mentioned in the last one I did that these are my absolute favourite posts to read. I don’t know if that means I’m really nosy or just very weird. I’ll go with both.
I have owned this handbag since December of last year. I found it in a crazy sale in Oasis with my friend, Bethan. She had actually bought herself one a few months prior to that for full price (I believe hers is purple… or maybe brown. I forget). Now I can’t remember exactly how much it cost in the sale but I have a feeling it was around £25. I chose the grey colour because in the winter I’m normally wearing black shades, and so I thought it would compliment the majority of my wardrobe nicely.
I don’t know if you can tell, but this bag is huge. Bethan actually warned me beforehand that it’s really easy to lose things in it. I can now confirm that she wasn’t joking. It takes me roughly 10 minutes to find my car keys, every time.
Other than that though, it’s a really nice bag. It fits everything you would ever need and it has three different spacious compartments (everyone loves compartments, am I right or am I right?). Now let me show you inside…
So now you probably understand why I require such a large bag. I have a lot of stuff I like to carry around with me on a daily basis. I don’t always carry so many books/notepads with me – sometimes I pick and choose exactly what I will be needing so that I’m not lugging around the weight of a concrete building on my shoulder.
My make-up bag always comes in handy. This Ted Baker one is my favourite – it’s just the perfect size and admittedly, it looks cute whenever I get it out.
I like to carry a couple of my favourite lipsticks with me because I normally have to rush getting ready, which means I forget to apply. So having it in my bag means that I don’t have to go the whole day with naked lips. I’m currently loving Revlon’s Pink Truffle and Mac’s Velvet Teddy. Great everyday colours for the lips.
Another must for my bag is a hand cream. I cannot go about my daily life without my hand cream by my side. I don’t know if this is just me, but in the winter I really suffer with dry hands. I am in love with L’occitane’s hand creams, particularly their Neroli & Orchid scent. Mmmmm.
Alongside them, I have a MAC concealer (because you never know when you might have an emergency) and a Bath & Body Works hand-santizer.
Something I forgot to take a picture of is my glasses. I need my glasses to drive otherwise I get headaches (a recent discovery which has changed my life). I’ll show you them some other time because they’re really cute.
How cute is this notebook? I’m slightly in love with it. I got it from John Lewis a month or so ago. I use this specifically for youth or church planning. It’s so cute that I can’t just have “rough” notes in it. It has a purpose and it has to be neat at all times. I let Bradley scribble some wedding plans in it once and I’m deeply regretting it.
Side note; I love this pen. I’m a picky pen user. I don’t like biro’s because they make my handwriting all big and messy. This pen is amazing – an absolute God-send for handwriting. For those who care, it’s a Pilot V Ball (0.5).
A day is not a good day if I can’t read a story. Therefore whatever book I’m currently reading has to be in my handbag. You never know when you might be stuck somewhere with no phone signal and nothing to do!
I’m currently reading Francine Rivers (surprise surprise) Her Mother’s Hope. It’s a tear jerker. It’s amazing. I’m dreading the end.
And obviously I need my purse with me wherever I go. I have had this one for years – it’s a TK Maxx treasure. I bought it for £10 and it has served me sooooo well all of these years. TK Maxx is 100% the place to go for purses!
Last but not least, I like to bring my Bible and my journal with me on my travels. If I’m heading somewhere where I know I definitely won’t have the time to use them, I’ll leave them at home. I’m slightly protective and the thought of losing them makes me shudder.
I hope you enjoyed nosing in my handbag. Until 2017, when you’ll probably see the contents of my bag yet again, yay!
