“Don’t get married because you think he or she is “the one.” Trust me, they’re not. There’s no such thing! But do get married when you see who God is making somebody to be, and it lights you up. When you want to be a part of that story of transformation. That journey to the future. when you are well aware of it will be a long and bumpy ride, but you don’t want to miss one mile. Because you believe in God’s calling on them, and you want in.”
I found this quote referencing to the book Loveology, and at that moment I knew I had to read it. Fortunately it was on Kindle for a half-decent price. I downloaded it straight away and I’ve struggled to put it down ever since.
Loveology is a book that tackles four topics – love, marriage, sex and dating. The author discusses how God intended these things to be, and how society has twisted all of them. It’s a really interesting read, which I’d particularly recommend to single girls who want to understand more about finding “the one”.
There’s a lot of theology within the book, which at first I was slightly worried might bore me (just being real with you), but John Mark Comer has written it in such an easy and understandable way that reading it is actually enjoyable. He adds humour and a few personal stories, as well as serious chapters that really get you thinking.
