I expected to read a lot more than I did during my week away in Corfu. Instead I spent more time with Bradley and a whole day being completely frustrated with myself for bringing a Kindle (that has a few too many technical problems) instead of actual books.
I did however manage to read one book. As always, Francine Rivers left me in a total daze with her writing. It’s almost a week since finishing this novel and I’m still thinking about it and wishing it hadn’t ended (I have a habit of falling in love with characters and then I end up missing them when I’ve finished a book).
The Scarlet Thread is a book about a marriage that falls apart. It’s a story of love, heart-break, forgiveness and faith. I don’t want to tell you too much, because I don’t want to ruin any part of it. It’s such a beautiful story that left my heart broken a few too many times (luckily I was wearing sunglasses the majority of the time I read it, so nobody could see my tear-filled eyes).
I always recommend all of Francine Rivers’ books, and this one is up there with the rest. I’ll probably be rereading it in a few months time..
