This book is so good at describing depression. I think any female reader will immediately be able to relate to the main character, Lucy. Her luck with men is awful and even though Marian writes it with an incredible sense of humour, you can’t help but feel your heart break whenever Lucy’s does.
Marian Keyes has been one of my favourite authors since I was 14, so it’s actually shameful that I haven’t read this book before (considering it was published in 2002)! But as all her other books, I loved every page and felt myself fall into a deep dark pit of despair when I finished reading.
I’d recommend this to any female who loves to read a long book. The characters truly come to life and the story is unpredictable yet realistic.
