Words can’t describe how much I have enjoyed this book this past week. It has been my escape and I’m so, so sad that I’ve finished reading it.
One word to describe this novel is magical. The storyline is magical, the characters are magical and the way the author is constantly keeping you on your toes is magical.
If you’ve been reading my posts for a while, you’ll know that I’m a hopeless romantic. For the past year or so I’ve found myself stuck in the romance genre. I’ve been scared to venture out and try something new – worried that I’d get bored.
My friend Carley, told me about this book and she had me intrigued almost straight away. So afterwards we trotted on over to Waterstones so I could buy myself a copy.
Uprooted has successfully helped to pull me out of the romance ditch and I’m so excited!
It’s a story about wizardry. A girl gets chosen by the wizard who lives in the tower next to the wood, and has to live with him for ten years. She finds out that she’s a witch and as the story unfolds they have to fight against the Wood, which is slowly corrupting the surrounding villages and their people.
My explaination doesn’t do the story justice at all. If you love to read (and you were massive Harry Potter fan), this book is totally for you. Also, how pretty is the hardback copy of the book?!!
