Chosen by Him
1 Peter 2:4-5 – As you come to Him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to Him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Just as I became more serious about my relationship with God, I was rejected by several of my friends. They laughed at me for going to church and made comments questioning my sanity. It hurt a lot at the time, but looking back now I realise that I needed to be rejected by them in order to move fully into my relationship with God.
Their rejection helped me to seek and accept God’s affection. The hole they left in my life was filled by God’s love and purpose for my life. He placed good, faithful people in my way to become my friends. They loved me for who I was and helped me to walk the path that God has for me.
Had I stuck with my old friends, I doubt I would have moved much further in my life.
Don’t see rejection as the worst thing that can happen to you. Sometimes rejection is the very thing we need to redirect us to where we need to go. Remember that God’s love and acceptance is all you need and it will always be there. He is faithful and you are accepted and chosen by Him.
