Isaiah 64:8 – Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Everything that we go through, everything that we endure, is all part of God’s handiwork. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense and other times the pressure makes you feel close to giving up. But whatever comes our way, God can use. Even if it’s a situation that wasn’t His will for your life – a situation that should have thrown your life off the rail.
I think back to my university degree – which I hated with a passion. Looking back now, I realise how much I learned in those three years, and how much of that God has used to shape the future I’m now living in. The months were the toughest and roughest, I now know was God bending and shaping the clay in His hands. The seasons I felt under pressure, was Him putting me in the firing Kiln, giving me strength and structure to last.
Don’t despise the journey you’re on and don’t underestimate it either. God is using every aspect of your life to form you into who He is calling you to be. The good and the bad, the easy and the difficult, it’s all being pieced together to create His masterpiece – a story that glorifies Him.
