Luke 8:15 – “But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who heard the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.”
This is from the parable that Jesus tells about the crops falling on the soil. The seed He is talking about is the Word of God. The good soil translates to having an open heart – one that’s ready to take in His word and apply it in our lives.
It’s so easy to think that God isn’t working in our lives and our situations. Or that He isn’t talking to you or answering your prayers. We all have those moments.
But it’s in those moments that we need to pick up His Word, open up our hearts and our minds and really listen. We can’t just skim the words and get frustrated when we don’t understand. We need to study the Bible, believe His promises and apply our faith every single day.
If this is something you really struggle with, pray that He opens your heart to what you’re about to read. Pray for wisdom and understanding. Pray for open eyes, open ears and an open heart.
