A list of rules?
Deuteronomy 5:33 – Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
Bradley and I have had our little kitten for almost a month now. She’s cute, furry and makes us all laugh. We have a few places in our house where she isn’t allowed, like the kitchen counter. She’s also too young to go outside. We have set these boundaries for her benefit – not to limit her and make her sad, but to keep her safe.
Sometimes we see the Bible as a list of rules to limit our lives and stop us from having fun, but actually God just places those boundaries there so that He can protect us. He wants the best for us and He knows that doing certain things will prevent His best.
It’s like our road laws. Imagine if there were no traffic lights, no rules and no signs on the road. There would be so many more accidents purely because of a lack of boundaries.
