Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to my feet, a light on my path.
This verse always makes me picture myself walking in the darkness, trying to find a way home and using His Word as a lamp to light the way. It’s actually a beautiful image – His love-filled and promising words shining hope in the darkness.
If the Bible has the power to light up the darkness, imagine how much power you can have as a follower of Christ if you studied it daily. That same light would be found in you. A light that shines so bright, anyone who came into contact with you would see Jesus.
We can never be Jesus – that goes without saying – but I truly believe that He can be within us. He wants to live in our hearts, make himself at home and do His great work within our lives. Every day have an opportunity to open that door for Him to enter through His word. We can have daily access to His kindness, peace and love through every word in the Bible.
Having that light in our lives will bring us clarity as well as pointing the way Home for others.
