Supply what is lacking
1 Thessalonians 3:10 – Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.
I was just glancing through 1 Thessalonians when I spotted this one sentence. It tugged one of my heart strings and immediately I knew what I wanted to write in today’s devotional.
I’m going to be bold and speak on behalf of all of us when I saw we all have something lacking in our individual walks of faith. For the majority of us, it’s regular moments of doubt, worry and anxiety. We question what we’re going through and struggle to see the light at the end. Or another common struggle is simply finding the time in the day to open up the Bible and soak in God’s word.
Whatever it is, we can all help one another in some way or another. Whether it’s holding your friend accountable for their Bible reading or simply asking them how are you doing? How can I pray for you?
I hope and pray that I can one day be a friend like this – one who is desperate to see my friends and find out how I can help them in their faith. And then I pray that I can also be on the receiving end of this – open enough for someone to look in and offer help and advice.
