Mark 4: 26-29 – He also said, “This is what the Kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain – first the stalk, then the head, the the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
When I read this verse, I imagine God scattering seeds in our hearts. Dream seeds. Seeds that plant a hope and vision for a glorious future. I believe He plants them in every single person’s heart.
The scary thing about seeds is that you can’t see them once they’ve been planted. They’re hidden. Just like our dreams are hidden in our hearts – they feel impossibly far away and hard to reach. This is when faith comes in to play – we have to trust God’s will and perfect timing in regards to the seeds He planted in our hearts. Just like the farmer didn’t know how his seeds grew, we won’t know how God works His miracles in our lives.
Just don’t give up on your seed. Don’t walk away before the harvest, my friend. Stick around long enough, persevere long enough to see how God works and see what He does in your life.
