Proverbs 4:25 – Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
Worrying tends to stem from negative past experiences. Having a bad experience in a certain situation tends to place a thick, grey cloud over any similar experience in the future. But if we want to move forward in our lives – particularly walking in faith with Christ – we need to learn to fix our eyes on what’s ahead, and not look back. We have to trust that God’s best for us is ahead of us.
It’s too difficult (for me anyway) to walk without looking where you’re heading. That goes for our faith too. We can’t constantly be looking backwards because we will end up tripping up.
Focus on what’s ahead of you and have faith in where God is leading you. Let go and move on from your past – because with Christ it has no hold over you anymore.
