He will meet you there
John 4:4-7 – Now he (Jesus) had to go through Samaria. So he came into a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?”
I love this verse in the Bible. If you know the whole verse, you’ll know that this Samaritan woman was promiscuous – she had five husbands. I love that Jesus rerouted his journey so that He could meet her. He knew that if she met Him there on that day in that way, her life would never be the same again. He knew exactly what she needed.
She was thirsty, so He met her at the well. But He knew that she didn’t need water from the well, she needed the Living Water. Only He could quench her thirst. Only He could satisfy the hunger in her heart.
Do you need to meet Jesus today? Perhaps not in the same sense as this woman. But maybe you need an answer from Him, or a word for the particular season of life you’re in. I believe that He will meet you exactly where you need to be met.
He will make a way to speak to you. He will go out of His way to meet you where you are. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done – how faithful or unfaithful you have been in your relationship with Him. He still cares enough to change your life.
