God never disappoints
Isaiah 2:22 – Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?
Okay, hands up if you’ve ever been disappointed by someone in your life? Hands up if something that someone did frustrated you, upset you or angered you? I’m sure that if we were in a school assembly hall, we’d all have our hands raised.
One of the toughest things to overcome is feeling let down by someone you trust and love dearly. It’s hard to forgive and forget. It’s hard to move on. The truth is that we’re all in the same boat – we’re all bound to make mistakes, have a few failures and cause disappointments. None of us a perfect and none of us ever will be. We all suffer with sinful natures, whether we like it or not. We aren’t God.
But the great thing is that there is a God who is perfect. He doesn’t fail. He doesn’t disappoint. He doesn’t make mistakes.
If you place all of your trust in a human, you’re guaranteed disappointment. But when you place all of your trust in God, you’re guaranteed life, love and so much more. His love replaces the disappointment, it allows you to have healthy trust in humans and teaches you how to forgive their faults. God’s love is healthy and guaranteed. It’s abundant and limitless. It’s powerful and mighty – so much more than what any human on earth could ever provide.
