A friend who cares
1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Don’t you just love a friend who really listens? They don’t just mm and ahh in the right places, but they really, truly care for what you’re saying. Usually it’s because they can relate to what you’re talking about – perhaps a situation they’ve been through themselves or because they know you well enough to understand what you’re going through.
God cares for us. He cared enough to send His only son so that He could relate to us. His compassion and love for us is so vast that He needed to have Jesus here on earth so that He could build a bridge for us to reach Him. So He understands when we’re hurting, when we’re afraid and when we’re frustrated. Our loss is His loss and our hurt is His hurt.
He doesn’t want us to shut Him out on the dark days, but invite Him in so that He can shine a light for us.
He’s a friend who listens and cares. He’s a friend who carries our burdens so that we can walk freely and lightly. He’s a friend who simply wants the best for us.
