Numbers 23:19 – God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
Oh, so often do we put our great God into our little human boxes. The many times people hurt and disappointed us are so often tied onto God too. Or sometimes we look at our failures and think that it was God’s fault – if He was really for me, why would He have let that happen?
God isn’t man. He doesn’t make a mistake ever. He doesn’t lie. He doesn’t change His mind. He doesn’t fail. He doesn’t fall out of love. He doesn’t get disappointed, He doesn’t forget and He doesn’t walk away.
Our God is the God of the impossible. He is all-knowing. He is everywhere. He is forgiving. He is gracious. He is faithful, kind, loving and peaceful. He is powerful and He is mighty. He is seated on the throne of all thrones. What God promises, He carries through. What God speaks, He does.
We can place our trust in Him because of who He is and all that He can do.
