Isaiah 30:15 – Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourself. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me.
When I read this, I can so easily picture God rolling His eyes at us as He speaks. I can imagine Him being so frustrated by all of us, constantly trying to do everything in our own strength. Little do we know that our own strength is basically no strength. It doesn’t matter how many protein shakes you drink, or how many times you attend kickboxing class at your local gym – your strength doesn’t even slightly compare to the strength from within God.
And the amazing thing is that we actually have access to His strength. He promises us that the moment we decide to completely depend on Him, our strength gets replaced with His.
The moment we stop trying so hard and just settle ourselves in His love, do we begin to grow strong. The moment we truly make Him our Saviour – putting Him first in every part of our lives. Make Him your Saviour. By giving Him the first part of your day. Making him first in your relationship. Inviting Him into your family, job and finances. Give Him your worries, your anxieties and your frustrations. Give it all to Him, and He will show you real strength.
