The proper time
Psalm 104:27 – All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 – There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.
This verse poured a bucket of peace into my heart yesterday. I so easily forget about His perfect timing, willing for things to happen now and getting impatient when they don’t. I question His motives in the waiting. I wonder if I’m doing something wrong – perhaps I’m not praying enough, or reading my Bible thoroughly enough. Or maybe I even missed it.
But that’s not how God works. He has a time for everything. He’s never late and He’s never early. He never misses an appointment. Just like the sun never fails to rise and set each day, so He will never fail with the plan He has for our lives. With every time He has scheduled for us, He also has a reason behind it. He never keeps us waiting unless there’s a specific reason for it.
So today I’m putting my timetable away, and resting in His. I can rest knowing that my times are in His faithful hands. Oh, and how thankful I am that they are in His hands and not mine.
