Proverbs 31:8-9 – Speak up for those who can not speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
I’m currently doing a bible study with our youth girls. In the last session we looked at this verse and discussed how different the world would be now if people didn’t speak up in the past. We are thankful that The Suffragettes fought for women to have a voice. If it weren’t for them risking their lives and speaking up, life would be very different for us right now.
I love that God empowers us to speak up. Solomon would not have written this very verse if it wasn’t God’s will for us to speak up and fight for the others in this world. Simply knowing and living in God’s Word equips and empowers us to speak truth into every situation.
We weren’t created to live this life for ourselves. God made us for others – to love and serve His very own people. Who can you love and serve today? Who in your world can you speak up for?
