What they say
Psalm 3:2-4 – Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
I call out to the Lord, and He answers me from his holy mountain.
Oh, the amount of times I fixate on what people say about me. Or worse even, what they might say. The devil will do anything, and have anyone say anything to distract us from what God says about us. He does this because he’s clever enough, sly enough, to know that what God says about us is absolute – the Truth. And if we knew and truly believed the Truth, we’d simply be unstoppable.
In this verse David talks about how people around him said that God wouldn’t deliver him. Do you ever wonder if God will deliver you to where He promised you will one day be? Or perhaps you’re beginning to doubt if He will ever deliver some people in your world? The people you’ve been praying for every single day?
Let me have the honour of encouraging you that God answers your every prayer. Psalm 4:3 says the Lord hears when I call to him. He hears your voice and He knows what’s going on in your heart. He’s a shield, protecting you. He lifts your head high. He hears you. And He is faithful to every promise He has placed on your life.
It doesn’t matter what people have said or will one day say. That makes no difference to God’s plan for you. It doesn’t even matter what you say.
Dig yourself in His Word. Get to know what He says, because that’s all that really counts.
