1 Corinthians 2:3-5 – I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human’s wisdom, but on God’s power.
Paul wrote this. The Apostle Paul. The one, chosen by God, to write more than several books within the Bible. It strangely brings me great joy to know that he had weaknesses too. It makes me feel better about my weaknesses to know that someone who was so anointed and favoured by God, and whose name we still read in our Bibles to this very day, also had weaknesses.
Not only did he have weaknesses, but he spoke openly about them. And he told us the very key to using those weaknesses.
Our weaknesses, are immediately strengthened when our faith is resting on God’s power. God’s Spirit can do anything and everything – so much more than we as humans could ever even comprehend.
I think that we too often fixate on our weaknesses, forgetting that God is able. We focus on everything that we can’t do, completely oblivious to everything that God can do.
Today I’m so thankful that my weaknesses don’t get in the way of what God has planned for me. I’m thankful that He can use my weaknesses through His great power and strength to bring glory to His name.
