Galatians 5:4-6 – You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated by Christ; you have fallen away from grace. For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision no uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
I love that we don’t have to try to earn God’s love. We don’t have to strive, we don’t need to pass a test and we don’t need to wait in order to receive His abounding grace, unbelievable forgiveness and unending love. So many of us think that when we do something wrong in God’s eyes, that we will have to be punished or suffer a shameful consequence.
But that’s not what grace is. Grace is unmerited, undeserving favour from God. We don’t deserve His grace in any means, yet still He is faith even when we are not.
So be thankful today that being in a relationship with Jesus Christ is easy. Praise Him for His goodness – for everything He gives to us that we don’t deserve at all. Live freely and lightly because through His unfailing mercy we have been set free for eternity. Don’t fall away from His grace, fall into it.
