1 Corinthians 1:1-3 – From Paul, divinely appointed according to the plan of God, to be an apostle of the Anointed One, Jesus. Our fellow believer Sosthenes joins me in writing you this letter addressed to the community of God throughout the city of Corinth. For you have been made pure, set apart in the Anointed Jesus. And God has invited you to be his devoted and holy people, and not only you, but everyone everywhere who calls on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord, and ours also.
May joyous grace and endless peace be yours continually from our Father God and from our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!
Oh I just can’t get enough of this verse. I have just bought myself the Passion Translation of 1 and 2 Corinthians and as I started reading through it today, this very first verse stood out immediately.
Do you believe that you have been divinely appointed according to the plan of our Father God? That He has sent you His personal invitation to step into all that He has for you?
He set you apart to do great, divine things. When I looked up the exact definition of divine, it said godly, supremely good, beautiful and magnificent. God hasn’t called you to be ordinary. He doesn’t have boring, mundane things planned for your future. No, He has so much more than that. Divine things!
Embrace the joyous grace and endless peace that He continually pours out to you, as you step into the appointment He has for you. Have the courage and the audacity to truly believe that He does have that divine appointment with your name on it. The dream that lives in your heart is a God dream that He has plans to carry out. He just needs you to step up and believe. Believe and live the devoted and holy life He has called you to live.
