Weak to the weak
1 Corinthians 9:22-23 – I became weak to the weak to win the weak. I have adapted to the culture of every place I’ve gone so that I could more easily win people to Christ. I’ve done all this so that I would become God’s partner for the sake of the gospel.
So many times I question God as to why I have certain weaknesses. I wonder why I have to go through particular trials and why God can’t just deliver me straight away.
But as I read this verse by Paul, it reminded me of how great God’s ways are. He uses our trials and our weaknesses so that we can relate to other people facing the same things. We can understand them and they can understand us. And through that link, we can show them how perfect God’s strength is in the midst of our weakness.
I can’t even begin to tell you how many times my heartbreak from a few years ago has helped me to help others going through something similar. The verses I held onto in those days are now the verses I use to help them. My testimony encourages and reminds them of how faithful God truly is.
So I’ve learned to write it all down whenever I’m facing a trial. I write down what God says, making special notes of the verses that speak to me. My weakness right now will become a strength that God can use for someone else’s weakness one day in the future.
Don’t allow your weaknesses to drive you away from God, but to drive you closer to Him, partnering with Him for the sake of the Gospel.
