His power for us
Ephesians 1:18-21 – I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
As I was reading this verse this morning, I wondered how it could impact my 2017.
What is God calling me to do this next year? It’s a big prayer that undoubtedly has a big answer for each of us. But what I love the most about this verse is the beautifully sweet reminder of His great, mighty power is for us! The same power that resurrected Jesus Christ is in favour of each of us.
No matter what He is calling us to this year, we undeniably have the strength and favour to complete it. Our faithful Father in Heaven is ready to guide us each step of the way, providing His perfect strength in our weaknesses.
I remember at the beginning of this year when I decided I would write devotionals for each day in January. I didn’t have the capacity to even imagine I could do a whole year! But His faithful, gentle nudging gave me the strength and the courage to carry on each month. Through His strength and grace I am almost finished with the year of devotionals!
What’s your dream for this year? Is it a God-dream? Have the faith to believe that He will get you there.
