Bold & brave
Joshua 10:25 – Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous.”
Bradley and I spent yesterday afternoon hanging out and catching up with some family. His cousin has two young children, a little boy and a girl. We went to the park for only twenty minutes, and they spent each and every second whizzing around trying out every single play area.
As a 23 year old adult, I was in total awe of their boldness and bravery. They didn’t question the climbing frames, measuring up their abilities to see what the likelihood of a nasty fall would be. They didn’t mind getting their hands cold and wet to grab on to the monkey bars. They weren’t afraid and they didn’t hold back.
I love how Jesus said in Matthew that He wants us to have child-like faith. Faith that’s bold and brave enough to not hold back. A deep enough trust and believe in our Lord and Saviour that we aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty. A life that’s lived so fully because it’s so absorbed and rooted in the Father who promises a beautiful eternity.
I’m believing for my 2017 to be a year of stepping out with a bold and brave faith. I’m really believing for God to use me and deliver me. He’s a faithful God – One who never gives up and never leaves. My faith can not only rest in Him, but also find the courage to carry on.
