The Kingdom of God
Mark 4:30-32 – Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all the seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”
It says in Luke 17:21 that the Kingdom of God is within us.
Whenever you share your faith with your family or friends, I believe you’re planting a little mustard seed in their lives. Your planting a few words that can seem so pointless, but that has the ability to grow into something huge over time.
I used to be embarrassed about believing in Jesus and my relationship with Him. I would hide it from my friends and pretended it didn’t exist. After a while, I realised that I was getting no-where and only hindering myself.
God told me to start writing about my faith and to share it with everyone. It was a huge step for me, and at first I didn’t think anything would come from it. I didn’t think that a few blog posts here and there about my love for Christ would amount to anything.
But I believe that throughout the course of this last year, Jesus has been planting mustard seeds in my writing. He’s been planting little nuggets of Heaven here and there that have grown in people’s hearts. More than I’ll probably ever know.
The same goes for you. Your faith is on show – a window for everyone to look into. God’s planting mustard seeds that you don’t even realise. And they’ll grow and grow and grow, as the people in your world come to know the enormity of God’s love.
