Fear not, stand firm
Exodus 14: 13-14 – Moses answered the people, “Fear not. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
I honestly believe that most of us have a tendency to overthink. We hear God’s calling, but as soon as some opposition or a trial comes our way, our first instinct is to run. We overthink our opposition. We give more credit to our trials and tribulations than to our God and His calling.
At our church, we have a clothing brand called FEARLESS. It’s great, I own a couple of the T-shirts. The other day I was wearing one, and just as I was about to step out to do something in faith, nerves hit me really hard. So many anxious thoughts went through my mind of what could potentially go wrong. If I had let my mind win, I would not have stepped out to do what I knew I needed to do.
But then I noticed the word FEARLESS on my sleeve, and I immediately remembered that I was God’s child. I reminded myself of His calling on my life, and asked myself why I was fearing the unknown.
Surely if God has brought me this far, He’ll get me through everything else?
Surely God has not created me to be fearful of the world?
Surely God didn’t create me to step back in fear rather than step out in faith?
Here are some words to take with you on your day today – FEAR NOT. STAND FIRM. THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU.
