A nothing-to-lose attitude
I’m sure you’ve heard the story of how Jesus fed the 5,000 (if not, go read John 6 – it’s a great story).
The best part is that out of 5,000 people, only a young boy came to Jesus and the disciples with some food. I find it hard to believe that only one person had food with them that day. I’m pretty certain that there were others quietly holding on to what they had that day, too afraid to lose it.
But this boy is young. I bet he didn’t over-think anything when he presented his small portion of food to the disciples. He didn’t seem to think he had anything to lose.
In Matthew 18:3, Jesus tells us to have faith like a child. To believe so fully in Him, that we know that we have absolutely nothing to lose. We can bring what we have to Him, knowing and believing that He will make a miracle out of it.
Don’t let your experience of the world and humans decrease your faith in a miraculous God. Don’t be afraid to dream bigger and expect more from God. Remember that when you believe in Him, you have nothing to lose.
