Luke 5:18-20 – Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
Luke 5:24-26 – So He said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you get up, take your mat and go home.” Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”
Some men had a friend that needed healing. They heard about Jesus and His power, and decided to do all that they could to bring their friend to Him. They knew that if they could just get him in the same room as Christ, then he would certainly be healed. Their faith was sure of it.
Jesus saw their faith. Just like He sees your faith as you bring yours and your friends’ needs to Him. I heard someone say last week that every time you pray, you’re digging a little bit more out of the roof above Jesus and lowering your need to Him.
Keep praying, keep believing, keep bringing your needs to Him. Jesus doesn’t miss a thing.
