I have heard your prayer
2 Kings 20:5 – “Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you’. ”
There are certain times when I’m reading the Bible, and suddenly some of the words will just come to life. It’s as if the Holy Spirit gets totally, uncontrollably excited because it needs me to understand something. And then my heart starts beating fast, and I read it over and over as to make sure that I’ve really grasped what God is wanting me to get.
Well, as I stumbled across this verse today, that happened to me and I instantly knew I needed to share it here in this devotional. There are some people reading this blog post and God wants you to know that He has heard your prayer and seen your tears; He will heal you. I don’t know what you’re battling; whether it’s a chronic illness, cancer, a mental health problem or you’re struggling to conceive that baby you’ve been dreaming of. But do know that your prayers haven’t gone unheard by our Father in Heaven. And do be encouraged by the fact that none of your tears will go to waste, because our God is a God who listens, cares, heals and restores.
“I will heal you.” That’s a promise, my friend. Write it on a post-it note and stick it to your mirror. Remind yourself of His promise every minute of the day. Hold on to it and wait for it, because God never backs out on His word.
If this blog post isn’t relevant to you but it’s made you think of a friend, share it with them. God has made you think of that person for a reason. They need some encouragement this morning – they need to hear God’s promise today.
