But you know God
Matthew 6:30-33 – “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers – most of which are never even seen – don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.”
I feel like I have used this exact verse multiple times throughout the 140 devotionals that I’ve written, but I can never resist it. I would use it in every daily devotional if I could. We need to remind ourselves exactly this every morning when we wake up. We know God and we know the way He works.
We don’t need to worry about how we’re going to live or how much money we’re going to make, because God knows and we know Him.
I heard an amazing message at church last Sunday, and I can’t not share this with you…
A rhino can run 55 mph (that’s fast), but it can’t see more than 9 metres ahead of itself. So when it’s running full speed, it kind of has no idea where it’s going or what’s in the way, but it knows exactly what it has on it’s head and how strong it is.
It’s similar to our lives as Christians, right? We don’t know what’s ahead of us or where we’re going, but we know exactly Who lives in our hearts and how He works. We know that our God in Heaven loves us and has a plan for us. He won’t just leave us hanging. We don’t need to worry about tomorrow.
