I’ll comfort you
Isaiah 66:13 – As a mother comforts her child, so I’ll comfort you.
My closest moments with God are from when I was totally disappointed, lost, afraid or depressed. The moments when I just had absolutely nothing to give but tears and sadness. I remember lying in my bed asking God why I was so sad, so clueless about my future. And those are the nights that I felt His presence stronger than ever.
Those are the nights that I felt His wings wrap around me to give me rest. When I felt Him wipe my tears and whisper words of love into my ears and my heart.
Just because you’re a follower of Christ, doesn’t mean that you will never be disappointed in life. It doesn’t mean that you won’t hit walls of total devastation or heart break. It’s all part of living in a fallen, imperfect world.
But because you’re a follower of Christ, you can trust that He will be there in the storm. He will be right there next to you, standing strong when things are falling apart. He will comfort you just as a mother comforts her child. He will come lie next to you in those sleepless nights. He will cover you with His feathers and He will steady your heart.
