John 15: 1-2 – “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”
Have you ever wondered why something never worked out? Be it a relationship, friendship or a job. Maybe God was busy gardening in your life, and saw a dead branch that needed to go. And maybe you are still clinging on to that dead branch because you haven’t realised that it’s dead?
Invite God into your life and into your heart. Allow Him to take control, breathe life into the branches He wills to be in your life and let the dead branches that you can’t see go. His will for your life is to walk freely and lightly, don’t weigh yourself down with things that aren’t meant to be. Give the heavy things to Him to carry.
And girls, if you’re young and you’re in a relationship that’s causing you more tears and worries than laughter – that’s a dead branch. Let go and walk away whilst you still can.
The best way to know if a branch in your life is “fruit-bearing” is to see how it honours God. How does God get the glory in that area of your life? Have you made room for Him to breathe life? Have you moved from the driver’s seat to the passenger seat?
His will is always perfect, don’t doubt that He knows what is best for you.
