Matthew 25:-29 – Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said.
When I was having my devotional/journal/God time this morning, I had this vision of Jesus standing in the waves with His hand reaching out, saying come… Come meet me in the unknown.
We will never fulfill God’s destiny for our lives standing on the shore. He wants us to take the step of faith, into what we don’t know so that we have no choice but to fully rely on Him. God meets us in the impossible, friends! I reckon so many of us are playing it safe because we’re too scared to let go of our human needs. We’re scared about how we’ll pay our monthly bills. We’re scared for our safety. We’re scared because what if it all goes wrong?!
But that’s exactly where God wants us – He wants us in impossible because that’s where His name gets all the glory. When people ask, how did you manage that?! You will have no choice but to say it’s all God!
He’s saying come… He’s inviting you to come to Him. To forget what you know and to trust Who you know. Meet Him in the unknown and discover more of who He is and how He works.
