A reason for you to be alive
John 8:20 – He spoke these words while teaching in the temple courts near the place where the offerings were put. Yet no one seized him, because his hour had not yet come.
We had a youth event a couple of weeks ago where they were able to ask anonymous questions that a few of the leaders would answer on a panel. It was such a great opportunity to share experiences and wisdom to our youth who had serious questions and choices that they were battling with in their every day lives.
One topic that came up was suicide and self-harming. It dawned on me in that moment how heavy life can be, even for young people. I’m so glad that someone did ask about it because it something that really needs to be spoken about.
I believe that if you have breath in your lungs and you’re here on this earth, you’re here for a reason. It says in Colossians 3:12 that you are chosen, and dearly loved. God would not have put you here if He didn’t have a plan for you right where you are.
Life can be hard and at times it can really suck, but our God is a great God and you are His child. My advice to the youth was to cling on to Him with everything that they have. God wouldn’t bring you to it if He couldn’t bring you through it. Press on because your hour has not yet come.
You have a hope and a future, don’t miss out on everything that He has for you.
