Psalm 63:3-5 – Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will life up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.
To me, this verse is the picture of perfect worship. Have you ever had that moment of truly encountering God’s love? When it just pours into your heart, your bones and your soul and you feel instantly refreshed and satisfied.
I honestly think that we get hungry for God. When we don’t praise Him, our souls are starved of Him. We need His love, His grace and His purity to run through our lives so that we can feel life. So this verse nails it when it describes feeling fully satisfied. That’s exactly how I feel when I’m truly praising God.
One of the amazing things about God is His steadfast love. Steadfast is defined as unwavering, unstoppable. That’s how He loves us – nothing can get in the way.
That means that we don’t just have to wait until Sunday morning at church to praise Him. We don’t need the worship band, bright lights and massive speakers to praise Him. We don’t even need music. We can meet God in that intimate worship just where we are and just as we are!
Praise Him whenever you can because He is the one who fully satisfies your soul’s thirst.
