Showers of blessing
Ezekiel 34:16 – “I’ll send down plenty of rain in season – showers of blessing!”
It rained on my wedding day. I woke up, looked out the window and cried floods of tears. The one thing I didn’t want to happen on our special day was happening. It wasn’t just light rain, it was showers! Constant, heavy rain pour.
Seconds before walking down the isle to my husband, my bridesmaids prayed for me. I had a heavy heart filled with disappointment and frustration towards God, but in that moment peace and pure joy filled me like never before. I felt God’s voice, telling me to really look at the rain. Look at the showers of blessing I’m going to rain down in your marriage – your lives together.
A few days later, whilst on honeymoon in Brighton, I stumbled across this scripture in Ezekiel. How perfect.
I love how God wanted to speak to us on our big day. I love how He showed up in only a way that God can. I love that He left a promise, a scripture straight from His word for us to keep in our hearts forever. The best wedding present ever, right?
I believe He’s promising this over your life too. I believe that God is promising you a torrential downpour of blessing for your future. He’s forecasting the heaviest showers of blessing to be poured into your family life, your marriage and in your relationship with Him.
Thank Him in advance for what He’s about to do in your heart and in your life. Thank Him and praise Him for the rain!
